How the trainer works
Your position is hidden. All you have is what the radios tell you: bearings and DME distances.
Draw bearing lines and DME arcs on the chart with the built-in plotting tools, just as you would with a chart.
Place an X where you think you are. Your accuracy is scored in nautical miles against the real position.

How can I practise position fixing online?
The Radio Navigator Position Fix Trainer hides your aircraft on a chart. You tune the radios, read VOR bearings and DME distances, plot lines and arcs with the built-in drawing tools, then place an X at your estimated position. The accuracy is scored in nautical miles.
What is a position fix?
A position fix is your location established from two or more independent lines of position: typically two VOR bearings, or one bearing crossed with a DME arc. Where they intersect is your fix.
Is the Position Fix Trainer in the free trial?

What can I fix from?
Two VOR radials crossed against each other, a radial crossed with a DME arc, or an NDB bearing. The trainer can be set to VOR only, NDB only, or a mix, and it checks the crossing angle is wide enough to give a usable fix.
