HSI simulator
HSI simulator
The HSI combines a rotating heading card with a course deviation indicator, so course and heading are read together. Because the card turns with your heading, the deviation bar is always on the side you must turn toward.
7-day free trial, no card required. Includes Just Fly, the Intercept Trainer and the Hold Visualiser. Reverts to the free tier when it ends; you are never charged automatically.

Three steps to your first session
Turn the course pointer to the track you intend to make good. The deviation bar shows how far off it you are, and which way.
The card rotates with your heading, so the bar always sits on the side you must turn toward. That is the reverse-sensing trap a fixed-card CDI leaves open, removed.
Turn to a wind corrected heading to hold the track.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free HSI simulator?
Yes. The Radio Navigator free tier gives you a full HSI with a rotating heading card, course pointer, deviation bar and TO/FROM flag. It opens straight in the browser with no account and nothing to install.
What does the HSI actually show?
An HSI combines a heading card with a course deviation indicator. The card shows your heading, the course pointer shows the track you have selected, and the deviation bar shows how far off that course you are. Because the card rotates with heading, the bar is always on the side you must turn toward.
Do I need a flight simulator installed?
No. Radio Navigator is entirely browser-based. There is nothing to download and it works on tablets and phones as well as desktop.
Is there a time limit on the free simulator?
The free tier runs 5 minutes of active simulation at a time, which is enough to set a course and fly it. Pro removes the limit entirely.
What does Pro add to the HSI?
Pro adds separate OBS and CDI instruments, an RBI, RMI bearing pointers, a second VOR, ADF and DME, customisable instrument colours, pop-out windows, and the graded trainers. The free tier is the HSI on its own.
